Guest Interview | Berry Sweet Life, Sally Tait-Knight

Hi there! I’m Sal, creator of Berry Sweet Life. I’m a health nut who occasionally enjoys an indulgent dessert. I focus all my energy on creating quick and easy, healthy and delicious recipes to help you live your healthiest and best life! I LOVE food & I’m excited to share my wholesome, easy recipes with you! Other passions include yoga, barre classes, photography and the ocean.

1.     What inspired you to write about food?  

I have loved food for as long as I can remember, and I’ve loved cooking since I was a teenager.  Once I turned 30 I realised how much better I felt when I ate really healthy food, and healthy eating became a huge part of my lifestyle.  I’ve learnt that we all need to eat intuitively to find a balance of what works for us as individuals to help us feel our very best.  I’m inspired every day to create and share easy, nourishing, delicious recipes in the hopes that my readers can experience what it’s like to feel good from the inside out every day! 

2.     How would you describe your site to new readers?

Berry Sweet Life is a food blog with hundreds of quick and easy, tasty and nourishing recipes to help you on your path to an all-round healthy lifestyle.  Many of my recipes are vegetarian, some vegan, low carb, with sugar free and dairy free options – there’s something for everyone!



3.     What is your take on organic food, is it a big deal for you?

I’m all for organic food…My dream garden would be large enough to have my own massive vegetable patch and fruit trees, this would bring such peace of mind about what we’re putting into our bodies every day. 

4.     You try a new recipe and it does not turn out the way you had planned, what do you do?

I develop at least two new recipes a week, and I like my food to be unique, so this happens fairly regularly in my life!  I’ll decide what was good about the recipe, what changes need to be made, and try again. Very occasionally my idea has been a bit too crazy and I sadly have to let it go. 

5.     What are your three favourite ingredients? 

I have SO many favourites!  At the moment I am really loving kale because it’s so incredibly good for you, and it can be really delicious prepared in the right ways.  Bananas are irreplaceable in smoothies and sugar free baking,  and I have withdrawals when I go a day without eating an avocado.  

6.     What are your 3 worst ingredients?

I’m not a huge fan of sugar, I think it should be limited as much as possible. I’ve never liked the taste of seafood.  And maltabella porridge should be banned from the planet, I tried one spoon full and that was enough for me.  

7.     What is your favourite local restaurant? Why? 

Sage in Salt Rock.  They have the most delicious light, healthy meals that ladies will love, and the garden setting is very tranquil. 

8.     Give your top food blog that inspires you the most? 

I was completely inspired by to start my food blog.  Lindsay makes glorious food and her photography and writing are amazing. 

9.     What’s the one super power you wish you had? 

To be able to travel the world without getting in a plane.  I’m a bad flier.  

10.  What is the most memorable dish that you have made?

My 5 Minute Spinach Apple Green Smoothie – It’s absolutely delicious and so packed with green goodness!  Everyone loves this glorious smoothie for it’s flavour, vitamins, nutrients and protein. Not to mention it’s gorgeous colour.
